Q: How do I view the documents?
A: You can view the documents by clicking on the Document
Library link. You will need to do Steps 1-3 before clicking
Get Documents.
- Choose the document (Instructional Guide or Curriculum
Framework)
- Choose the Subject Area (Language Arts, Math, Science,
and Social Studies)
- Choose the Grade Level or Course Title
Then Click Get Documents.
Q: How do I print the documents?
A: Once you have chosen a document to view, there is
a “printable PDF version” link at the top
of the page. Click on the link and it will open the
document in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- IIf you do not have Adobe Acrobat reader, follow
the instructions for getting Macromedia Flash Player
6 but click on the rdrweb.sit for Macs and AdbeRdr60_DLM_enu_full
for Windows. You can also download the reader from
Adobe’s Web site http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
- After the document opens in Adobe Acrobat, you can
print the document by going to File, Print or clicking
the printer icon on the toolbar.
- In the print dialog box, you can print all the
pages or put in the number of the page you want to
print
(hint: the page number comes from the pages designated
in Acrobat Reader not from the pages that are on the
document itself.)
Q: Can I save the documents to my computer?
A: Yes, you can save the document to the computer after
you have clicked on the “printable PDF version”
link. When the document is open in Acrobat Reader, you
can click on the disk icon on the toolbar. Then, locate
the destination on the computer where you want to save
the file.
(hint: to find out what the icons are put your cursor
over the icon and a pop up will appear telling you what
the icon is)
Q: Can I copy the standard, benchmark, etc.
out of the printable version into a document?
A: Yes, you can copy any of the text out of the printable
version that you opened in Acrobat Reader.
- Locate the Text Select Tool or Column Select Tool
icon on your toolbar. The icon has a T and a dashed
box. Remember that you can always put your cursor
over the icon to find out what it is.
- The Text Select Tool can be used to select text
that is on one continuous line across the page. The
Column Select Tool will help you select text that
is in columns.
- If you choose the Text Select Tool, highlight the
text you want to copy and do a File, Copy. Then, navigate
to the document that you want to copy to and do a
File, Paste.
- If you choose the Column Select Tool, draw a box
around the text that you want to copy and do a File,
Copy. Then, navigate to the document that you want
to copy to and do a File, Paste.
